Analysis of Illustrations
The youngest group read three books and looked closely at the following books to see what they had for illustrations:
- We read “Whistles for Willie.” In the pictures we saw letters, squares, patterns and lots of colors. Illustrations by Ezra Jack Keats
- We read”The Missing Piece” and saw only black and white. Lots of black shapes: lines, wiggles, triangles and longs! Illustrations by Shel Silverstein.
- We read “Cold Little Duck-Duck-Duck – we saw colors, charcoal outlines of ducks, and green grass.
