Ah Winter…the joy of new snow falling brings delight to our children’s eyes…and panic for the parents! Will there be school today? What will I do for childcare? How am I going to make a snowman out of 3 inches of snow??

How to Find Out if School is Closed

If Somerville Public Schools are closed, so is the Agassiz. Here’s how to find out:

• Phone: Call 311 or  (617) 628-SNOW (ext. 7669)
• Cable TV: local cable channels 15 and/or 16
• Local TV: channels 4, 5, 7, 13, 25, and 56.
• Radio:  WBZ 1030 AM and WBUR 90.9 FM
• Email/Text Alert: sign up at The Boston Channelwebsite. Choose “Somerville Public, Middlesex County” from the list of institutions. For text alerts you’ll need to enter in your phone provider address:
